It is not possible to plan for all contingencies in this sort of work. Faced with installing five sandpoint wells at a depth of 21 feet in less than three days we arrived with a tripod, a 4:1 pulley rig, and a post driver (which was saddled with 300 lb of sandbags). We learned a lot. On the second day to ease driving the sandpoint, village men dug holes 10 ft deep into the sand! The tripod and heavy weight was no longer needed. Two men with a post driver can advance a sandpoint the remaining 10 ft within 30 minutes!
